Rebecca Mae, M.A.

(Resident in Marriage and Family Therapy)

Rebecca would like to offer her listening ears, empathy, and safety; she has a heart to see individuals, couples, and families/children experience healing from emotional scars; more peace; deeper connections; and more joy in life. Our past and present relationships powerfully influence our feelings and thoughts about others, the world, and ourselves. When those experiences are negative or unhealthy, they have the potential to cause stress. Rebecca would like to journey with you as you seek resolution and healing—shalom.
Rebecca completed her Marriage and Family Therapy graduate program from Alliance Graduate School of Counseling, Nyack College, NY, and is a Marriage and Family Therapy resident at Seeking Shalom. Being trained in 9 of the major Marriage and Family therapies, she is equipped with many approaches and interventions including spiritual ones to use in her work with individuals, couples, and families in varied walks of life. She is a certified Prepare Enrich facilitator and am trained in two of three levels of Gottman Couples Therapy to counsel premarital and married couples. Rebecca is a member of the New York Chapter of AAMFT. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Special and General Education for grades 1-6.
Her professional experiences include working with typically developing elementary school-aged children, as well as those who have special needs and their families in school settings by helping to develop individualized behavior plans; guiding couples to better navigate the beauty and hardships of being in committed relationship through better communication and more connection; helping individuals who are struggling with anxiety and depression. When not counseling, Rebecca and her husband enjoy exploring their Brooklyn neighborhood, being part of a Church community, exercising, cooking both Korean and American cuisines, and spending times with family and friends.
