Surura Abdul-Wahab
Intern in Marriage and Family Therapy
Hello, are you looking for clarity and tranquility?
Let’s talk and walk through this journey called life. Though there may be challenges along the way, the choices we make can open up channels and create pathways for new opportunities. I am a graduate student at Northcentral University studying Marriage and Family Therapy. I look forward to helping you find meaning in your circumstances and identifying the next steps in your journey.
My journey to becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist began while reflecting on the prevalent stigma in underprivileged communities associated with seeking counseling. It created a passion within me to normalize the perception of working with therapists through advocacy and outreach. I hope to provide individuals, couples, families and communities with a safe environment where they can comfortably explore concerns, find goal-oriented resolutions, and build meaningful relationships.
I have experience working with students in academic settings and clients with medical and clinical diagnoses. I offer counseling in the areas of relationships, self-identity and development, and grief management.
As a Muslim woman, I can relate to the challenge of finding one’s niche in today’s society and I hope to help you carve out your own.
Our journeys are unique and present us with opportunities to charter a new course. Let’s navigate.
